Beautiful Friendship for Tuesday!

Hi again,

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Just a quick post today to share another card I've made and to remind you that the Bonus Days coupon deal ends on the 31st July. If you purchase any items from the annual catalogue you can earn bonus coupons to spend in August. I have my coupons ready to go and my shopping list for August. I'm looking forward to buying the new Over the Moon stamp set with gorgeous cow stamps:

My card for today uses the Beautiful Friendship stamp set and the In-Colour 6x6 Designer Series Paper (DSP) in Seaside Spray.

I've embellished the card with Seaside Spray Scalloped Linen Ribbon, Seaside Spray faceted gems and braided linen thread. The centres of the flowers have some Wink of Stella added to make them shiny, but you can't see this in the photo. I've also used a whisper white diecut from Detailed Bands behind the flowers for extra detail.

I hope that, wherever you are, your day is going well.

Thank you for visiting,

Kristina x

Beautiful Friendship Cards

Welcome to my blog!

I've been away visiting my parents and escaping the cold Canberra winter, but I'm back at work again.

On my day off today I made four cards after being inspired by the delivery of some new stamp sets from Stampin' Up! and watching the wonderfully talented Emma Goddard's Facebook Live.

I also received some beautiful cards while I was away. The first one is a Bendy Fold card made by Laura Buechler in Canada, using papers and stamps from the Mosaic Mood suite. Isn't it gorgeous?

Anita Masiero in Australia (Over the Moon stamp set featuring the lovely cows) and Debbie Mason in the US (Floral Essence stamp set) made the following cards. I love being part of this RAK Facebook Group and being able to send and receive cards. It's a great way to get to know others and to spread some kindness and happiness!

This is the first card I made today, CASEd from Emma Goddard:

Products used:

Blueberry Bushel ink
Whisper White Baker's Twine
Blueberry Bushel & Whisper White cardstock
White Embossing Powder
Multipurpose Liquid Glue
Stampin' Dimensionals
Beautiful Friendship Photopolymer Stamp Set:
Woven Threads Sequin Assortment: using this year's In-Colours

Hand-Lettered Prose dies: perfect for creating any word in a lovely scripted font

The second card is for a friend and uses Blueberry Bushel rhinestones instead of sequins.

I'll post the next two tomorrow.

Don't forget that you only have two more days to earn bonus coupons to spend in August. Please email me for further details or click the link to find out more.

Until then, happy crafting!

A Bright Daisy Card For You

Happy Monday! We had rain overnight and the sun came out in the afternoon - a beautiful day in Canberra!

After watching Emma Goddard's Facebook Live this morning I was inspired to case her design with some tweaks. This is my card for today:

I'm really loving the daisy punches! I've used both punches to create the daisy, with a clear faceted gem in the centre coloured with the Daffodil Delight marker.

There are three of each daisy, joined together with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I've used the Seaside Spray marker to add a little colour to the daisy's centre and tips of the flower at the back.

I've added some Mint Macaron Textile Ribbon instead of leaves and a pearlised doily.

The background is watercoloured in Melon Mambo, Daffodil delight, Calypso Coral and Mint Macaron on watercolour paper. Tip: let the ink dry (or use a heat gun to dry it) before adhering the background to the card. The card base is Mint Macaron cardstock.

The sentiment is from the Woven Heirlooms stamp set. I've used Melon Mambo and clear embossing powder to make it bright. The sentiment is on thick whisper white cardstock and is cut out using the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies.

Both the daisy and the sentiment are attached using Stampin' Dimensionals to give them more of a 3D effect.

If you have any questions or comments about products or techniques used, please contact me.

Until next time, happy crafting!

Kristina

More Daisies

I have another daisy card to share with you today:

The daisies are much shinier in real life. I've stamped them in Versamark and then heat embossed them using white embossing powder, giving them texture and shine. The centres are coloured with a Mango Melody marker. I used the daisy punch to cut the flowers out.

Tip: using thick whisper white cardstock makes it easier to curl the petals a little with your fingers or a bone folder without creasing them.

The background is from the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper (DSP) which had small white daisies in it.

The ribbon and bow is Purple Posy Scalloped Linen Ribbon - I've cut the ribbon so I could use the edge only. If you cut it carefully it won't fray. I'll use the other side another time.

The sentiment is from the Free as a Bird stamp set and is stamped in Blackberry Bliss to match the DSP on thick whisper white cardstock. I've shortened the Classic Label punch die cut to fit the sentiment using scissors.

Stampin' Dimensionals lift the sentiment and two of the daisies.

The stamp set and punch below were used to make this card:

If you have any questions about products or techniques used, please email me or leave a comment below.

I hope my sharing inspires you to create!

Wandering Down Daisy Lane

Welcome!

For those in Australia, are you enjoying the beautiful daisies flowering now? We have lots of beautiful little daisies at school that opened up in time to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday. The students have two weeks off, but there will be teachers in and out over the break preparing for next term, so they will be able to enjoy them.

I've had fun this afternoon making some daisy cards. I set myself the challenge of making a card using Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay and Pacific Point, because I loved the colour combination.

I was thinking dinosaurs, but I ended up with daisies. Same letter, right?

I used the Daisy Lane stamp set and Braided Linen Trim as pictured below. Both are from the new annual catalogue. I also used the Daisy punch which carried over from last year's catalogue. The punch saves a lot of time and fussy cutting, but the daisies aren't that tricky to cut around if you don't have the punch. There is also a medium daisy punch that fits the medium-sized daisy stamp.

Here is the finished card:

I've used some Mosaic Mood Designer Series Paper (DSP) on whisper white cardstock. The edges have been softened by daubing Early Espresso ink.

The daisies are stamped and punched twice, and glued together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I've used Wink of Stella to give the daisies a sparkly centre.

The sentiment is also from the Daisy Lane stamp set, stamped in Early Espresso on whisper white card, and I've daubed the edges with Pacific Point ink.

The linen trim has been knotted at either end and glued to the sentiment. I've raised the daisies and sentiment with Stampin' Dimensionals so they add a 3D effect.

Please contact me if you have any questions about or suggestions for the card and techniques or products used.

Don't forget that if you want some extra Stampin' Up! products, July is the time to sign up for a huge $280 worth of products of your own choice for only $169. Plus you'll receive a $16 voucher to use in August. It's a great time to join my team and enjoy the beautiful stamps, papers, inks, dies, embellishments and much, much more. Thank You Card using Magnolia Lane DSP

Hi,

Tonight's card is for a friend at work who has been amazing and supportive over the past few years. She has encouraged me and guided me, and backed me as needed. I have more confidence and enjoy my work so much more because of her. Thank you, Sharon!

I've used some Magnolia Lane DSP as the background and cut out a flower from another page of DSP to add to the Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon. I cut an extra centre of the flower to add on top to give it a more realistic, 3D effect.

The sentiment is from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set and uses the Pretty Label punch. The sentiment and background paper are softened using Petal Pink and Mossy Meadow ink. I've added some soft pearl rhinestones and a few extra leaves to the sentiment from the DSP. Stampin' Dimensionals under the flower, the extra layer of petals and the sentiment help them stand out more.

All of these products can be purchased from my store: http://bit.ly/KristinaSUYou will also receive coupons to redeem in August, plus you'll receive a free thank you gift from me. Check out my previous post for all of the details.

Stampin' Up! also has a promotion throughout July - sign up for discounted products and extra bonus products of your choice from the catalogue with no contract or penalty if you decide not to buy any further products or sell to others. For $169AUD you'll receive $296 worth of products of your choice and free shipping.

Happy crafting,

My First Card using Good Morning Magnolia

What colours are magnolias?

I'm not sure, but my friend's favourite colour is pink, so these magnolias had to be pink as it is her birthday tomorrow.

I created the background using the smaller magnolia flower stamp and embossed them in white. I watercoloured the flowers in Melon Mambo and Mossy Meadow - I am new to watercolouring and I never realised how much fun it is to do. I found that the easiest way to access the ink for watercolouring is to press the end of an acrylic stamping block onto the inkpad and then use the aqua painter to pick up the ink from the block - no messy imkpad lids and no ruined inkpads!

The large magnolia is also white embossed and watercoloured in the same colours, as well as So Saffron for the centre. I've cut the magnolia out and used Stampin' Dimensionals to add height. A little bit of Melon Mambo around the edges of the background and sentiment cardstock softens the edges.

The sentiment is from Butterfly Wishes and I've coloured the silver metallic edge ribbon in Mossy Meadow (using a dauber) to create the green ribbon. Some clear rhinestones add some extra bling.

My husband and I are going to attend some painting classes so we can learn more about shading and watercolouring - I am so excited!

Happy crafting,

Kristina

Today I have a couple of cards to share with you using A Little Lace and Floral Essence stamps. The design was CASEd from Lisa Curcio - thank you, Lisa! - and was so much fun to make.

Tips to ensure clean images on both pieces of cardstock:

1. Use your Stamparatus to line up the large stamp exactly where you want it on your cardstock. One card was done by stamping on the base cardstock and then stamping on the smaller piece of card - this gave the cleanest image.

2. If you don’t have a Stamparatus, stamp directly onto both pieces of cardstock at the same time if you have them lined up and secured with some washi tape or light adhesive. I suggest practising first on a similar weight of card.

3. Using the thick Whisper White cardstock will give you better results.

4. Use Memento Inkpads with blender pens to keep the stamped outline crisp.

Until next time - happy crafting,

Kristina
